Strike at Brush electrical, Ashby De-la Zouch

30 engineers began strikes on 25 May and are striking through until 16 August over bosses attempts to drive through big cuts to overtime rates, allowances, holidays and other terms and conditions that would result in a pay cut of between £10,000 and £15,000 a year using fire and rehire. Strikers are picketing the Ashby plant every day 11am-2pm.

Strike at University of Liverpool

UCU members at the University of Liverpool will begin three weeks of strike action against job cuts starting Monday 24th May.

Strikes at ScotRail by conductors and ticket examiners

Conductors on Scotrail services are striking every Sunday (currently until 18 July) in a fight for enhanced payments for working rest days. They have now been joined by ticket examiners. The strikers are members of RMT.

Further strikes on East Midlands trains

Train guards are to strike over the issuing of inferior contracts every Sunday from 27 June—15 August.

Woolwich ferry strikes
